I. CICLOP: The Continuous Improvement Learning Community of Practice (CICLOP) is an innovative pilot project involving a group of dedicated paramedics who volunteered their time to enhance patient safety through the implementation of the Safety Learning System© (SLS). The CICLOP team performs detailed reviews of ePCR’ s and identify Opportunities for Improvement (OFI’s). This documentation standard along with its contents are the result of OFI’s identified by the dedicated CICLOP team.
See CICLOP 2025 report, or Appendix 1 for more details on CICLOP.
II. iCARES: Integrated Clinical Audit and Review Education System (ICARES) is a customized data quality tool which was developed around a rule-based framework and is built directly into Siren Field User. This feature provides paramedics with real time feedback with visual scores and guidance to capture important clinical and demographic information, with an overall goal of improving PCR quality. We import this data into a dashboard and monitor trends in general and clinical quality.
See Appendix 2 For more details on iCARES.
III. PEER (Peer ePCR Evaluation & Resources): Enhancing Paramedic Practice and Wellbeing through Peer Review. Paramedics conduct peer-to-peer reviews of randomly selected electronic Patient Care Reports (ePCR). The objective is to provide constructive feedback aimed at improving the quality and accuracy of documentation. The feedback is supportive and resource-oriented, helping paramedics enhance their skills and knowledge.
See Appendix 1 for more information on the PEER program
