When you complete this module, you will be able to enter:
• Vitals signs
• Scores
• Input / Output
For each set of vitals taken, you can create an entry and then edit or delete it at any time during the call.
Key Point: Vital Signs, Scores, and Input / Output are all entered as sets of information, each of which will have an associated time and Done by indication.
Each set of vitals will appear on the summary table with details.
The scores screen is very similar to the Vitals screen, and is where you record:
• CTAS / details
• MCI Triage Tags (enter the tag number)
• Broselow Tape Category
• Burn %
• APGAR, which is based on a standard scale and calculates an overall value to represent the patient’s current condition
The Input / Output screen is where Advanced and Critical Care Paramedics will enter:
• fluid input, such as oral fluids, infused intravenous fluids and blood products
• fluid output such as urine, emesis and wound drainage
Currently, Advanced Care Paramedics can enter an interpretation of an ECG / Monitor report / waveform.
When Cardiac Monitors are integrated into Siren this section will also include the following functions:
• Import a patient case from a cardiac monitor (includes waveform reports and all events logged such as rhythms, shocks, vitals, drug therapy, procedures etc.)
• View, print and add notes to the Cardiac Monitor report and waveform.
• Within the Vital Signs tab, add a new set then click Save for a quick timestamp, adding the details later. (eventing)
• Clicking Cancel will result in your entry not being saved.
• Once you have more than one set of vitals entered you can click on the Previous Item / Next Item buttons (as shown below), to move from entry to entry without closing one and then opening another.
