When you complete this module, you will be able to enter:
• Provider’s Impression
• Concerns for vulnerable patients
• Patient / carer concerns and wishes
Key Point: The Provider’s Impression displays on the SNB to let the receiving facility know what type of call is en route. Enter the impression as soon as you know it, so that the information will appear on the SNB and triage staff will know what to prepare for. Provider’s Impression is also used by BCEHS to understand the type of calls being responded to by paramedics, and is critical for outcomes reporting and organizational decision making.
Key Point: There are several things you need to remember when entering Provider’s Impression.
1. While the pick list will allow you to select more than one impression, enter only one
2. Always add details: You must select a type for the entry to save correctly
3. Do not use this comments field. To enter the narrative, use the main Comments field in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Some impressions are meant to be used for a diagnosis the patient already has, and would be used in an interfacility transfer.
Key Point: If you cannot locate the impression you need for an interfacility transfer:
1. Select Interfacility Transfer, see Complaint
2. Select Type
3. Go to History > Patient > Complaint and use that field to enter the impression
Use this section to enter concerns.
Review this screen so that you are familiar with the fields you can enter for concerns for a vulnerable patient.
This section contains a single field.
